Pat Connor winner of the 2017 Irish Ceramic Award, was born in Dublin and studied at NCAD. He moved to West Cork in 1971 and established a ceramic studio that evolved from domestic ware to sculptural work. From 1976 to 1986, he lectured at NCAD,  CCAD, and LSAD.

His work is represented in major public and private collections, including the Arts Council of Ireland, The Crawford Municipal Gallery, The Ulster Museum and The National Museum of Ireland.

He represented Ireland internationally at the 1980 Paris Biennale and the Japan World Craft Council Symposium.

He is based in Schull and continues to create new work from his studio.
