Elected to the ACADEMIE INTERNATIONALE DE LA CERAMIQUE. Palas de l'Ariana, Geneve, Switzerland.

1985

Travelled to Zurich, Switzerland, with eleven other artists based in Southern Ireland as part of a cultural exchange between South West Ireland and the Oetwil and Zurich. Funded by the Union Bank Switzerland

1984

Invited to travel to Krefeld, Germany and take part in a three day symposium and exhibition. Funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland

1984

Organising member for the International Sculptural Ceramics Symposium and Lecturer to a sculpture Workshop. Carraiglaine, Ireland.

1982

Invited to Hanover by Lutz Keil to create works in clay, later exhibited in Kassel. While there he studied the work of Joseph Beuys through Herr Keil whom had a working association with Oldenburg.

1976

Received grant from the Arts Council of Ireland to work in bronze

Awarded a Japanese Foundation grant for work in clay and was invitated to demonstrate sculptural clay techniques in Kyoto, Japan

1974

Founding member of the Cork Craftsman's Guild, which by the mid 1980's became the largest craft co-operative in Europe
